Ruby in Zoisite Hand-carved Turtle on Leaf Prong Mount

This stunning piece has been hand-carved out of a single piece of stone. This beautiful specimen features naturally occurring purple ruby crystals in a green zoisite matrix, creating an eye-catching contrast. However, this carving accentuates this contrast by utilizing a large formation of ruby crystals to form a turtle resting upon a zoisite leaf, creating additional layers of depth, texture, and dimensionality. As if this was not enough, ruby crystals are naturally ultraviolet fluorescent, giving this piece an entirely different character when a UV light is shined on it to cause the turtle to glow! The artisan who carved this piece was trained by a master jade carver, and the skills he learned are clearly manifest in this awe-inspiring work. Each prong of this .999 fine silver setting has been carefully hand-filed to a delicate point, adding to the refined beauty of this one-of-a-kind pendant. In addition to the artist's initials and the .999FS quality mark, this setting has been stamped "30" to designate that it belongs to our 30th Anniversary Collection.
