Morrisonite Prong Mount, "Leopard on the Prowl"

Set in a .999 fine silver custom mount handcrafted by Jim Rice. Cut by the late cabochon artist Tim Roark, this beautifully shaped piece displays a warm palette of soft orange, yellow, and brown hues. In the top 1/3 of this pendant, there is a naturally occurring formation that creates an image reminiscent of a leopard lying on the ground with its front paw beside its mouth, as if this graceful beast is carefully watching the world, unobserved by the casual passerby. In Jim's words, "It took me quite a while to see the image -- now I can't unsee it." This striking picture, created by natural formations and revealed by good stone cutting, has earned this piece its place in our 30th Anniversary Collection. Each prong of this .999 fine silver setting has been carefully hand-filed to a delicate point, adding to the refined beauty of this one-of-a-kind pendant. In addition to the artist's initials and the .999FS quality mark, this setting has been stamped "3X" to designate that it belongs to our 30th Anniversary Collection.
