Fordite Prong Mount

Set in a .999 fine silver custom mount handcrafted by Jim Rice. Hailing from Michigan, this eye-catching material features a more than 100 layers of sparkly, metallic automotive paint that has been upcycled into a lovely piece of jewelry, predominantly black and white with highlights of deep red and blue. This cabochon was cut and polished by the late artist Archy Ammerman, and it contains a double use of repurposing, as the black backing of this piece is made from a section of a vintage LP record. Each prong of this .999 fine silver setting has been carefully hand-filed to a delicate point, adding to the refined beauty of this one-of-a-kind pendant. In addition to the artist's initials and the .999FS quality mark, this setting has been stamped "3X" to designate that it belongs to our 30th Anniversary Collection.
