Enhydro Agate Wire Wrap

Hand-wrapped with 24-36in. of .999 fine silver wire by Jim Rice. Formed in the same volcanic conditions that produce its more well-known cousins, geodes, this remarkable specimen bears one striking difference. In a geode the bubble of water around which the stone is formed dissipates prior to enclosure, leaving a hollow space; but in this enhydro agate, the water remained long enough to become trapped inside. When a flashlight is held behind this piece, the small amount of water can be seen moving as the agate is gently rocked back and forth. Semi-translucent and predominantly brown, this remarkable pendant presents the rare opportunity not only to admire a piece of natural history but to wear it too. 49mm x 40mm x 25mm thickness.
